ACCEL Knowledgebase Question:

Since I am unable to upgrade my 37 series distributor to an HEI cap, I may upgrade the complete distributor. Would either Accel model #71202E or #59205 be appropriate for drag racing. RPM currently as high as 7500. Why one over the other? Are there any Mallory available for racing?

Use Mallory Comp SS 32 series for racing. Billet housing, ball bearing shaft support, large Ford style magnetic 2 wire pickup (plugs right into CD box), male (HEI style) plug wire terminals, screw on cap (rather than clip on), adjustable mechanical advance that can be locked out, etc. For a Ford 460 the part number is 3256711.
